Domino Auto Update Task (AUT) problem with language versions

With several other Domino admins and customers, I consulted problem with upgrading the Notes client V12.x using AUT (Domino Auto Update Task). The English version worked correctly, but in our case the Czech version did not work. Everything was configured correctly, but the upgrade itself failed to start. After consulting with HCL Support, the workaround is relatively simple.

Compact system databases with minimal Domino server downtime - Ales Lichtenberg

Each of us has to deal with maintenance, especially “compact” system databases such as log.nsf, admin4.nsf, events4.nsf, ddm.nsf and so on. Yes, just turn off the Domino server and take the compact offline. Depending on the size of the databases, server downtime increases. However, there is an option to minimize server downtime. Since of Domino 9.0.x, there is a compact with these parameters

HCL Traveler has ended supporting HTTP (without SSL)

With today’s update (November 15) HCL Verse for Android, HCL Traveler Companion for iOS and HCL ToDo for iOS has ended HTTP configuration support and only HTTPs are no longer supported. This applies from these versions: HCL Verse pro Android (12.0.5) HCL Companion pro iOS (12.0.2) HCL To Do pro iOS (12.0.2)

I recently worked on one integration of Sametime V 11.6 with iNotes and Verse (2.2.0). I configured everything as usual, but I still couldn’t get Sametime up and running with iNotes and Verse. Although this has been described in the documentation, discussion forums or on various blogs, I would like to remind you once again that certain parameters need to be used.

I received a request to resolve the following issue. After upgrading the Notes client from 9.0.1 to 11.0.1 on a Windows 10 laptop and the recommended display of 125% (Scale and layout), the Notes client and all applications were a bit blurry. The same problem can be reproduced when set to 150%

How to increase the document summary data limit (Notes App.)

Do you see it in any Notes application: “Field is too large (32K) or View’s column & selection formulas are too large“? As of Domino / Notes 9.0.x, there is a solution to get rid of this “error” and increase the limit to 16 MB.

In Notes Client V11, you can set your own image for the Workspace background. You may want everyone in your company to have the same background, such as a picture with company logo. There is a way to distribute an image with a background, including setting that background to all or selected users.

Verse On-Premises (VOP) is already in version 1.0.9.A. Most users are still used to accessing mail from a web browser using iNotes. Do you want to set VOP as default or give users a option between iNotes and VOP? Upgrade your design or create a new iwaredir from the template included in the VOP 1.0.9 or 1.0.9.A package.

HCL Domino V11 - Authenticating web users against the Notes ID passwords in the ID vault

Starting with Domino V11, you can configure Domino to use an ID vault password to authenticate web users accessing the server. If enabled uses the Domino server to authenticate users to HCL Verse, HCL iNotes with their Notes ID and passwords stored in IDVault. With this feature, users only can to remember their password in the file ID.

Every autumn we organize a technical conference with the Czech user group SUTOL. The same was true this year, when we met at a traditional place in Prague. Can a user find out which version of Verse On-Premises is used to access their mail database in a browser? Yes, but it’s not quite user friendly. Someone would look for it somewhere in “About”, but you need to click a little more.

Verse On-Premises 1.0.8 unavailable mail DB archive

You may not see the option to open an archive database after upgrading to Verse On-Premises 1.0.8. If you have a “simple” solution where you have a manually created archive DB of your mail (without applying the policy), you probably won’t see this new option to open it to the VOP as described here LINK.

First month with HCL software

We have completed the first month when HCL fully took over from IBM Collaboration software (Domino, Notes, Sametime, Connections …..). Information comes from all sides, we gain access to individual systems. Everything is not going smoothly, but from my own experience I know that the people of each teams are trying to help. I wish everything was successful and thanks to all HCL people and customers for patience.
